Our History

Since its inception, homeowners have come to appreciate all that Willowbend has to offer. Utilizing all the unique benefits of this development, generations have enjoyed playing tennis at the community tennis court, swimming or fishing in the maintained pond, quiet walks around the neighborhood, or exploring along the natural riverfront of the beautiful Maumee River.

In Willowbend you will find a location and lifestyle that complements whatever stage in life you are in. From young families to empty nesters, the homes of Willowbend have something for everyone.

Willowbend’s unique history started in 1975 with a desire to create a prized location of homes that offered buyers their choice of large wooded home sites or open spaced properties. Its location was close enough to be convenient, but far enough away to offer privacy and solitude. With it’s official groundbreaking by the Cavalear real estate group. The 127 home sites proved to be very popular, and by 1984, ninety percent of the home sites were sold, developed and occupied.

The exact property containing Willowbend runs from Roachton Road north directly to the Maumee River and was formerly the George Marshall Briley Estate (199 acres).

The majority of home sites are contained within off street lots, 22 of the properties however are located directly off of River Road (State Rt. 64) and 11 of those back directly to our river bottom space.
